Hi, I’m attempting to fix my brother’s computer and I think he really screwed it up. At this point I do not care if he loses all his files I just want to get it working again.
Ok, when I start it up I get the blue screen. Here’s the technical information:
*** STOP: 0×0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF803EB6, 0xEFEAE7c4, 0×00000000)
*** win32k.sys - Address BF803EB6 base at BF800000, DateStamp 47e0e106
I have tried to run it in safe mode by continously pressing the F8 key. Even then it still has the blue screen. I have tried loading it with every other startup option. Still a blue screen. I have the windows XP Reinstallation CD with service pack 1. Can anyone help?

the easy options is reinstall the windows. but if the blue screen occur again, it seems that u hav a problem with u’r hardware. try to clean the computer from dusts, clean the RAM and VGA gold finger etc.
still blue, change the bios set to fail safe setting..
hope this works..
