Why would you want to. Avast is the best. You can put avast HOME on it instead of pro for FREE. The only difference between pro and home is the script blocker which isn't needed for windows vista anyway.

Start,Control Pannel,Add/Remove programs, Removie Avast Antivirus, Delete

Just remove the program as you would any other program.
XP:
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
Select Avast and click on Change/Remove
Vista:
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Programs & Features
Select Avast and click on Uninstall / Change button at the top on that window

Go to your start menu,
Then control panel,
Then programs,
Then uninstall a program and click on avast to get rid of it.

To remove Avast go to you add\remove programs in control panel. This will remove the application from your system. Once that is done you can install another antivirus program.
