How do I restore an admistrator password after hacking into it thru f8 & safe mode?

July 11th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I hacked into computer thinking I could do a system restore to put the password back on the login screen so they wouldn't know I was there. I went in using f8,safe mode and the extra administrator account. I need to cover my tracks if possible.
anyone know how to restore the logon password?

Cannot reset the administrator password even you in Safe Mode.

Administrator password is a registry modification process which window will not allow to directly edit or modify the password information of any administrators.

you should have administrator password reset disk to do it. or you should have an bootable password disk. you cand download it from http://electromice.blogspot.com and follow the guide carefully to do so.

      to reset/create a password:

go to safe mode by pressing f8 during reboot
      http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsaf…
      open the command prompt
      and type this:

      net user user *

replace the second user with the account to change the pass on.

      and press enter
