how do i save pictures on a mac?

ive found the right click thing and these are the options it gives as you probably know

Open Image in New Window
Open Image in New Tab
Save Image to “Downloads”
Save Image As…
Add Image to iPhoto Library
Use Image as Desktop Picture
Copy Image Address
Copy Image

however their is a folder in finder that says pictures, how do i save them their, do i just drag them in from the internet?

      You can just drag them, or you can pick “Save Image As…” from that menu and pick that folder from the dialog box that appears.

      I use Save Image…., a navigation window pops up. Navigate to where you want the image saved to, Pictures if you like. If you want it in iPhoto use the iPhoto Import function or drag and drop it to iPhotos icon on the Dock. Never muck around in Pictures > iPhoto Library.
