How do i stop avast from scanning a file?

November 1st, 2008 · 2 Comments

I have this game Warrock that i have been playing like all year and now its telling me when i start it that it contains a sample of win32-gen or something like that, i know that the client is safe to use but i want to keep my scanning thing on standard but i want it to stop telling me that that file has a virus when i know it doesn’t.

Find ouy what path the game is installed in because you’ll need that.
Then right click the icon on task bar.
      Choose “On-Access Protectio control”
On left choose “Standard shield” icon
      Click “Customize” button onright
      Choose “Advanced” Tab
Click add button to add to the exclusion list
give it the path to ignore i.e. “c:\mygame\*”

Right click Avast icon is system tray, click on Program Settings, click Exclusions, click Add and enter the path to the file you want excluded then click OK
