The same 4 or 5 Pop-up ads for antivirus 2009, Rogue Defender, Education Guide, etc. My pop-up blocker is turned on, I have scanned my machine with AVG, Spybot, Ad-Aware, ClamWin and Hijack This and none of them can seem to find anything malicious. What do I do?

Extra note: I do have firefox, however, my concern is more about what's causing the popups and how it may affect the rest of my machine. I have used IE for years without any kind of similar problem, so it leads me to think that it may be a virus or spyware of some kind.

The obvious answer is to stop using Internet Explorer.

Get Firefox, dump IE,and you won’t look back.
Mozilla Firefox beats IE hands down. Quicker, more efficient and best of all, fun.
Go for it, you won’t regret it.
Make sure you install it though before you dump IE because you need it to browse until Firefox is in

For pop up killing I use NoAdds, if you get a pop up just go into the NoAdds control panel and kill it from there. The only thing you have got to be careful of is to not “kill” any of your programs that are visible on screen to you, no biggy if you do, just got to find it in the targetted box.
