You must upgrade to AVG 8.0

If you have an anti-virus program already installed, Windows may not detect it. And it'll give you a security alert saying your AV program is not installed or not turned on. Try uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling your Anti-virus software.

What version of Windows are you running? You can only upgrade to AVG 8.0 if you have Windows 2000, XP, or Vista.

A link to the upgrade is below.

Are you sure it’s your anti virus protection it’s warning you about. Is your windows firewall on? Is windows itself up-to-date? Security center doesn’t just warn you about virus protection.

Hello Michelle, If you install the new upgrade version of avg, it will turn the virus protection on automatic. You must upgrade to this version. avg 8.0 so go back to grisoft web-site (http://free.grisoft.com) Once at the site look for the free version (avg 8.0)

As everyone else already told you. You are getting the alert because AVG 7.5 is outdated and has to replaced with either AVG 8.0 or something else.
