My Brother tried installing the Premium Version of Vista, and thought it would get rid of the "Home Version." To make a long story short, The other version stayed on and Filled up his D-Drive, and almost completly destroyed his computer. Is there a way to get that other Vista off, since clearly installing one didn’t boot the other off? His D drive has been completely filled.
All answers are appreciated.
Oh other info: It’s a Dell Inspiron 1525 If that helps.
EDIT: I read that someone said to delete Vista off the D drive, where would it be? or is it all the files on this part of vista?
And, How can I just return to factory settings, cause right now that sounds good to do

d drive on dell is a recovery partition and should not be messed with >it restores your computer to factory settings in case your computer crashes

yes you can,pop in the vista disk and reboot your/his computer.when it reboots and comes to the screen where it says something like press any key to boot from cd.do so,and itll start installing vista files.when it gives the option to reformat and/of repartition, just delete ALL partitions.this will show up as one big drive.you can create another partition to any size you see suitable for your os.from here after formatting, just carry on with installing vista.once that is finished you can go ahead and reinstall all of your drivers.chipset,audio,video,ethernet/wireless,etc….
i forgot to note that all the drivers for his laptop should be available for download on the manufacturers website ex:hp.com or dell.com,etc…

Delete Vista from the D drive. Reinstall Premium on the C drive. (You get to choose which drive to install it on.) NEVER write anything to the recovery partition of a Dell computer.

Usually that does not happen and the other Vista is uninstalled. So I would suggest you check how much GBs Vista premium takes up. Your brothers computer may be designed only for vista home edition becuase premium edition may take up to much space. What I’m saying is instead of having 2 Vista’s you may have 1 so big it’s taking up both drives
