How do I uninstall Empire: Total War?

First off, the title of the question is a little misleading because if I gave it a more appropriate name chances are no one would try to answer it. Well I tried to fix the sound of ETW by downloading some file and now my game won't even start. What I really want to know is where is my save game at? I have no problem reinstalling my game, but I don't want to lose all the time spent building my empire. That way I can just paste the files into the newly installed game. Please respond!
