I'm trying to uninstall Internet Explorer from my PC, it's an HP brand. I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I'm trying to uninstall it because I want Safari as my internet browser, since it can take PC's now.

Go to Add/Install programs in your computers control panel, it should be in there and you can uninstall from there.

i don't think you can uninstall IE! just use safari & keep it as your default browser!

whats wrong with having them both? i dont think youll be able to have windows update or anything like that without internet explorer. Internet Explorer comes with windows so leave it there.

Use Add or Remove Programs

Control Panel, Add/Remove Hardware, Internet Explorer.
Make sure all your programs use Safari for their features though. I use Safari but keep Internet Explorer just in case. All you have to do is go into Safari, Options, Choose as default browser and the supported types will open in it while the few Internet Explorer only ones open it Internet Explorer as a one off.

You can delete the user interface (Start/Programs - look on the left panel for Windows applications - IE is one of them), but you can't remove the actual program without totally crippling Windows.
If you install Safari, and tell it to be your default browser, it will be. (Be advised that there are still web sites - that are written completely correctly - that Safari won't run.)

Hi there..
There is no way to uninstall it as it is a main component of your windows & also if you did you will have system defects in your current version of windows..
You can setup your preferred explorer & make it your default one..

I don't understand all the thumbs down for the correct answer to your quetion, the only thing I would differ with, is use Firefox, I like it better than Safari. FYI, the first thing I did on both my new laptops was remove Vista completely and install XP and Firefox
