When you uninstall it, it won't delete all of your music it will leave it in My documents > My music > iTunes Music.
When you reinstall it will add all of it back, and if it doesn't, once you get the fresh copy installed go to File > Add folder to library and go to the iTunes Music folder and click Open and it should add it all back just like it was before.

Try to creat a new file on your desk top and try draging the songs to the new folder . and name it something like my music that should save your files.

It's very simple. iTunes will not remove your music files during uninstall. However, I highly recommend you invest in a portable hard drive anyway because it's good practice to keep backups. And once you get this hard drive I also recommend you use File Synchronizer (http://www.latshawsystems.com/ProductDetails_FileSynchronizer.aspx) to make backing just a few clicks! I use it!
There are many ways of doing this. This is simply 1 way. Obviously I'm not doing this in reality so forgive any minor errors and make retroactive adjustments as you go along.
Uninstall iTunes.
Reinstall iTunes.
Press CTRL+COMMA - This will open Preferences.
Go to the Advanced tab.
Browse for your iTunes folder and select it.
Tick: Keep my iTunes folder organized.
Tick: Copy files to iTunes when adding to library.
Then go to FILE > LIBRARY > CONSOLIDATE LIBRARY.
This will copy all files listed in the iTunes program INTO the iTunes folder.
Now sync your iPod.
If it doesn't sync then just reset it and resync it.
DONE!
