The Norton site is a pain. when i click on the uninstaller download link it provides, some window appears showing me the directory. So maybe some one can tell me an alternative to unisntalling it.

Download “Windows Install Cleanup” on MS website. Use carefully to remove superfluous junk.

Hope you use win Xp. Point an icon which states Norton in the right side of the task bar, right click and quit, if any. Go to control panel–>add or remove programs figure out which one you want remove, click on remove.
Hint: use this shortcut on run menu to access add/remove pgms: appwiz.cpl
