It was installed by mistake. I'm running 32 bit Windows XP Media Edition on a Dell XPS 720. I looked for a long time in a lot of places and could not find uninstall instructions anywhere.

Add/remove programs
Wait
Once loaded, scroll to yahoo messenger

go into you settings, control panel, select add/remove programs and select messenger, it should start the removal process.
