i installed anti virus 2009 but it was just a pop up telling me that i have viruses but i don’t, i installed it believing them. i already have protection and now that shit is bugging the hell out of me, every once in a while a scan pop up pops up telling me my computer is infected and that i better buy their product quick. how do i uninstall this thing. i’ve tried going on that uninstall programs thing on my computer but its not listed. how do i permanently remove it?

youve been infected with spyware.
get spybot search and destroy, that should clean it out.
in the future, dont believe messages that arent coming from your own antivirus (you do have antivirus, i HOPE!)

I had the same thing happen to a laptop of mine a long time back and it was really frustrating to get rid of. The best advice I can give you is try several different spyware/malware removal programs and different freeware antivirus programs until you find one that can get rid of it completely. The problem with some of these things is that they use obfuscated code (code that keeps changing to hide itself) and your AV will remove it, only to have it re-appear on reboot. Try Spybot S&D and Adaware and see if those may pick it up. Best of luck to ya

Help is here to get rid of this AntiVirus 2006. A good way to get round this is: Go to start then run type in regedit. When that open up make sure you highlight HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE click on the plus sign + and you will see software. Look for this software right click and delete it. Close the regedit box and rebot your pc using F8 key on your keyboard. If you can’t find this software go to edit and type in the name of the antivirus software then like I have mention above right click and delete it.

easy, boot up into safe mode to do that just shut down your computer and then turn it on and before the boot screen pops up hit f8 a bunch of times, and chose safe mode then log in and navagate to C:\program files\antivirus 2009\ or whatever the folder is called and delete it then empty your recycle bin and then reboot
