i have a gateway GP6-350 with windows 98 on it. i want to install windows vista. this is a transition computer but i need it for work and it is not allowing me to do anything at the moment. i have tried going into the add/remove programs, searching for an uninstall program, going through DOS, deleting it though the C drive. nothing works. i do not have the Original disk. i have searched the internet and found nothing. i tried to put windows vista onto the computer so it will just override the windows 98 and the computer wont even read the disk, although it will read many other disks. i have tried to change the software on the computer from gateway to dell and that doesn't work. i have tried changing the system settings and that doesn't work. everything works properly but im still stuck with windows 98. if their is an information link somewhere or some software or just some advise, all the help will be gladly appreciated.
