A week ago, I installed Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 because I thought it would be more better than Internet Explorer 7. Unfortunately, it keeps crashing and I would like to change to the more stable and reliable Internet Explorer 7.
And yes, I do know that since it is currently in beta at the moment, the browser is not reliable at the moment. Hopefully, when the full release comes out it will be as or more reliable than Internet Explorer 7.
Here’s the problem:
Unfortunately, the Internet Explorer 7 installation file doesn’t let me install it. Instead, it says “Setup cannot continue because a more recent version of Internet Explorer has been detected on this computer”.
Is there any other way to change from Internet Explorer 8 Beta to Internet Explorer 7?

Please don’t tell me to -
- Change to Mozilla Firefox or to any other internet browsers.
- Use System Restore. (Sorry, but it turns out I installed Norton 360 and the updates. My internet usage is currently very low at the moment and I can’t afford to waste anymore)
I need other alternative methods.
Thank you very much for your generous help!

I’m sorry, but go with Firefox, its much faster, it takes up a lot less space, and it doesn’t frequently crash and experience problems like IE. When you install it will ask you if you want to import all your cookies and favorites from IE to Firefox, so you don’t have to worry about going through all the trouble of doing it manually.

You have to uninstall Internet explorer 8 beta 2 first, when you get that done then you can install internet explorer 7. I have IE8 beta 2 and it works but like the other answers I use Firefox.3.03 the latest version,I only keep IE8 for updates.

oh come on . firefox is much better . to be honest Iexplore always seems to be In BETA no matter if it is a “stable” release or what . Firefox can reduce yout bandwith but if you must re-install Iexplore .
This was already answered by , twistedpython’s
his post reads .
“The way I did it was to go to add/remove programs, clicked “show updates” and then looked for the explorer update and told it to remove it. I’ve done that twice, but do be cautious and make a set point and/or backup your data first, because the first time I tried it a few years ago to roll IE 6 back to IE 5, it didn’t uninstall it properly properly and it totally destabilized the entire Windows OS, although it said the roll back was successful. I had to reinstall windows from scratch and even then, the computer was always slower than it had been. That was Windows ME, but caution is still advised because Explorer is so integrated with the Windows OS.”
