How do you delete Antivirus 2009 program?

November 13th, 2008 · 9 Comments

My mom installed the program, and did not know that to actually remove spyware you have to register and pay. Now she wants to remove it and find a free program that removes spyware. We have tried over and over to delete it but we can’t.

Two questions:
How do you install Antivirus 2009? (IMPORTANT)
What are some good kinds of virus scanners and removers that are free? ( NOT SO IMPORTANT)

it’s constantly running, so turn it off in task manager, then delete it from you program files folder. you may need to unhide the files

It is not easy to remove Antivirus 2009, but if you do a search on it you will find instructions. You should first see if you can do a restore to a previous date.

If your program does not show up in the Add/Remove program list (most of them dont), then u could go to the antivirus webpage and follow their instructions. If that doesnt work, u could download Revo uninstaller, its free. Or Ccleaner works pretty good.

Avg has a free anti-spyware download.

SPYBOT is a free and pretty good spyware detector and remover. AVG has a free anti virus program that is about as good as it gets. I have been using both for years and have no complaints for either and they are less intrusive than is Norton and many others and i have tried most of them over the years.
