I do not see a button or section for opting out of the offer like: No thanks, take me to YM download. I am not interested in entering my personal info now and having to cancel later.
I have tried to download from the official yahoo messenger site. I click on the download button and then it says, "Thanks for downloading YM. Here is a special offer from Blockbuster." But nothing has really been download. I have had YM two days ago but uninstalled do to some issues. Now I cannot download without this Blockbuster ad showing up all the time. I have email Yahoo also. They say there is nothing they can do about it. Hmmmm

You must not be downloading from the official yahoo messenger website either that or your computer is infected with some malware. Yahoo messenger would not require you to sign up for blockbuster before downloading. Somebody else had said this about 9.0 beta so I tested it out since it made no sense and I never saw anything about blockbuster. When you install any program choose custom install so that you don't also install unwanted programs like Yahoo Toolbar etc.
I suggest first that you download from the official Yahoo Messenger website and also to scan you computer. And by no means give out your personal information for what could be a phishing website or some scam. Here is the official Yahoo website for Mac http://messenger.yahoo.com/mac/
