We called our internet provider about our slow internet connection, and all he said was it was because of our computer. But i just cleaned my computer with ccleaner and scanned with the free avg antivirus. I think they just want to alter the conversation so all the fault will become ours and they can escape our complaint. So i wanna find out how to know if my computer is the cause of the slow net connection or the provider.

What you need to do is find the IP address for your modem. This connects you directly to your modem and you can see its specifications. That'll tell you your upload speed and download speed given to you by your ISP. But the downside is you'll have to get it from your ISP.
If your computer was ok at first with a good internet connection then it's not your ISP's fault , it's the computer.

First, when your internet connection goes slow check its speed status here http://www.speedtest.net. Compare the result there with the speed capacity of your applied internet connection. If the result is proportional then it must be your pc have a problem.
Try using a good antivirus like NOD32, Kaspersky, or Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition. Hope that helps.

in my experience i found it is the provider most of the time, of course if you have a problem that you are not aware of [hidden virus] i also have ccleaner free avg backed up by other things. providers lie like the dickens and other times just don't know what they are talking about. try trendmicro [housecall] there are so many other things that come into play that it [at times] makes it impossible to know.
