I have norton antivirus downloaded and installed on my computer. It is blocking Limewire from having internet access and won’t open. I never change my computer settings, I never touch it. I go to control panel and windows firewall and uncheck Limewire and then check the box again so it can get access but it still won’t open. How do i unblock this program?? I had this problem before with Norton that’s why i don’t like using it. I hope it does a great deal of getting the viruses off my computer. Does anyone know what i have to go to or do to get Limewire up and running again?

You really shouldn’t use Norton. They aren’t a good company, and they dont help you with anti virus, and it costs a lot. This answer i’m about to put is from a previous question that i answered, Its the best anti virus setup that i’ve found, and it doesn’t block anything, that isn’t a trojan horse, or anything thats not bad

Hi, i’ll tell you a way to protect yoru computer for free. What i found out a couple years ago is that there is a program called “Unhackme” its a great program and it has saved my butt many a time. It has a feature that can run chkdsk at startup, incase a virus deleted vital files, and it will either delete the virus and replace the files, or just delete the virus before it can attack your computer. Then I use AVG Free Edition, and that is for my daily or weekly scan. Then Unhackme can run virus scans aswell. The combination of these two free programs, would be probably the best find on the internet. Links to teh downloads in the sources. Enjoy!!!

I would stick with the Windows Firewall. Very user friendly and allows exceptions. Make sure your Windows has the newest updates tho first. SP3 + the few hot fixes since SP3s release.
In using the Windows Firewall, you will need to shut off the norton firewall. Double firewalling at layer 7 is not good. Make sure to have a router as well, you do not want to be plugging right into your modem. NAT acts as a firewall at layer 3 of the OSI model which is the way of providing complete security protection.
