I have the adblock plus disabled, nothing is checked, but it still seems to be blocking some things on some sites. I cannot see the scoreboard on the National Hockey League website for example. I cannot find an uninstall option either. I click tools->adblock plus and there is no option that I can find to uninstall. Can anyone help?

Follow these–
1. Click Tools >> Add-ons. A pop-up type dialog box will open.
2. Choose AdBlock plus in it an Click the Uninstall button. Remember to restart Firefox.
Thats it!!
If there is no AdBlock in the Menu and you are still having problem ReInstall FireFox.
Even if not done then go to C;/Program files( where ever you have installed it)>> go to plug-ins folder and delete any folder with name AdBlock plus.
Don't worry that will not pose any problem to your Firefox.
