It depends on how much you download stuff. If you do it a lot then once a week would be good. But if you don't then once a month is standard.

hmm… I rarely scan my computer.

Antispywares, virus removers, are all just junk that’ll slow down your computer.
Just play it safe, don’t download things that you don’t think are safe, delete cookies, and don’t visit “certain” websites.
If anything though I’d do it once a week, but in reality only check when you’re suspicious of a virus. Once it’s there, the remover rarely gets rid of it complete.y

I recommend every other day, and a virus check twice a week and a defrag once a week.

if u donwoad alot of stuff or play games like, runescape or sumthing, then you should scan once a week, unless you download something you arent sure about

Hey, “more” can’t hurt, right? Once a week is optimal but if you don’t need to use your computer at some time, there’s no harm in putting into a virus scan at that time, right? My feeling is, scan it as often as you can without it causing you a problem or your cpu to slow down while using it. Technically, you could do it once a day, right????? Better safe than sorry.

It really depends on which sites you go to. If you’re going to well known places then the chances of you getting viruses/spyware are minimal, so you don’t need to scan that often.

But if you’re browsing all around the net, then maybe every few days, depending on how heavily you’re surfing.
