I had vista in one drive(D:drive) and xp(C:drive) in another. i have reinstalled xp in C:drive as a result i cannot find the boot option for vista.
when system starts it directly boots xp without asking or showing any option to boot vista. and all the files in the D:drive are secure ,nothing i have deleted from that drive nor formatted it.please help…

you should be able to get it by pressing esc repeatedly when starting ur computer and then pick d drive to boot from
and keith (guy above me) its because somtimes vista or newer versions dont have all the drivers because its new
frobs he said D:drive are secure ,nothing i have deleted from that drive nor formatted it.please help…

You should never install an old version of windows after installing a newer one.
The order should be old version before the newer one.
XP has overwritten Vista’ boot record.
I am not a Vista user, but you should be able to use the original Vista DVD to repair the boot record.
