How to defeat a request for password to repair a windows installation? ?

September 23rd, 2008 · 1 Comment

When I try to do a repair on a laptop with windows xp home installed, I am asked for a password, no one knows the password. I am trying to do a repair so as not to reformat and reinstall and lose all data on laptop. Main problem is that laptop will not boot up in normal, safe or any mode whatsoever.
as I said in my original question, the laptop will not boot up in safe mode, regular mode or even go to command prompt. when I try to repair the system with an xp disk it asks for a password, which no one knows. If it would boot in safe mode then it would not be a problem.

GO TO SAFE MODE AND REMOVE THE PASSWORD UNDER USER ACCOUNT.
