I have McAfee virus protection through work but I just found it hasn't updated it's DAT file in 2 mos (it is supposed to do so automatically).
I ran a scan and found a mst122.dll file which the program can't delete. What am I supposed to do? Tech support doesn't open till Monday and I have a very important presentation to finish.
Also, when I was on facebook, my IE started opening many new windows all at once. That is what prompted me to run McAfee. Is that a result of this virus? Or am I looking at something more serious. I am very diligent about not downloading random programs. And my computer was checked for viruses about 2 months ago. What did I do wrong? Thanks so much!

There has been a recent surge of malware plugins being installed directly on the internet browser when you visit a malicious site and do anything. This will cause random popups or redirects from websites you open and will install dll files in your system32 folder with random names. MST122.dll is a virus file which acts in a similar way but can be removed using similar methods:
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)
It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.
Next:
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
* Note: If you receive a notice that some of the items couldn't be removed, that they have been added to the delete on reboot list, please reboot.
I would highly recommend using Super AntiSpyware as well and run a complete scan. It is a little better at finding new viruses than McAfee which can't keep up as well. (http://www.superantispyware.com/)
Good Luck

If you mean that the popup ads popped up saying you need McAfee because you have a virus, then clicking on those for a download could result in your computer getting infected, or more infected then it already is! Don't ever click on those type of popups ever! Those are what bring the viruses in.

Run your computer in safe mode and delete it that way.
To start up in safe mode tap the F8 key before you see the windows Logo and you will get an menu asking you what to do. select safe mode and hit enter. and on the next screen hit enter again.
then if you know where that file is go and delete it. if you still can not then you need to take ownership of the file or delete is through the administrator account.
Be sure not to leave it in the recycle bin (Shift+Delete) when deleting
