Antivirus 2009 is a new rogue anti-spyware program. It is also a clone of Antivirus 2008 - also a rogue, and one that's produced more clones than any other recently. The list of these clones is long: System Antivirus 2008, Ultimate Antivirus 2008, Vista Antivirus 2008, XP Antivirus 2008 etc.
Antivirus 2009 manual removal:
Kill processes:
av2009.exe Antivirus2009.exe
Delete files:
av2009.exe Antivirus2009.exe
If you not sure how to this or do not have a up-to date anti-spyware. Download http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php and run a full system scan to remove it.

It's Malware and If Antivirus 2009 has been installed on your system without your permission or you are seeing popup advertising or recommending that you use Antivirus 2009 your system is infected with the zlob trojan.
Follow the instructions below for Free removal.
Please remember to update before scanning.

hi there
i have had to get rid of this scumbag program on a number of occasions.
it is a real pain as it eventually starts to download other scummy programs
in time you are likely to have the following problems:
1. browsers other than internet explorer will not run.
2. Virus scanners will not be able to access the internet to update and thus will not delete the malware on your machine.
3. internet explorer will be hijacked and will prevent you from going to proper antivirus websites.
4 you might end up with a hijacked desktop warning you that your machine is infected.
Antivirus 2009 has been around for a few years under different names, 2008, vista antivirus, and so on. I believe that they are all vundo variants but they also use rootkit technology.
Rootkits are programs that can run without the knowledge of windows (they are inessence invisible). Starting in safe mode will not help at all.
if you were to use windows file explorer to look for a rootkit you would have no joy. Instead you need a program that will look at all of the files on your machine and then compare that list with the files that windows is aware of.
to download a free rootkit revealer go here
http://www.sophos.com/products/free-tools/sophos-anti-rootkit.html
let it run and then delete the hidden files that it finds
once that is done your antivirus software will now have access to the internet to get updates.
in the windows\system32 folder there will be a number of infected dll files with random names created recently. You will not be able to delete these manualy so allow your AV program to delete them at boot up (ie. before windows has loaded.
now everything should be ok.
A free AV program that will delete the nasties after the rootkit is dead is avast home edition from
http://www.avast.com
goodluck
^^^^^edit
bewarned that any AV program that does not use rootkit scans will remove the pop ups and parts of the program but will leave you with no internet access. Fortunately most AVs do rootkits scans now
