How to fix sound after reinstalling vista?

I recently had the BSOD on my dell inspiron 1420 laptop. I decided to reinstall vista and it rid the problem. The only thing wrong is that the sound does not work and I have no idea how to fix it. I reinstalled all of my drivers and reinstallation discs countless times but still no sound. If anyone has any idea how to fix this please help me!

Try using headphones, make sure that the sound is not muted or low. Try using dells latest drivers for your laptop
