Go on google and type in:
Simplified and traditional chinese language packs
Click on a result that should take you to Microsofts page where you can download from there. Once that has been downloaded and installed you will be able to read and write chinese. All you will need now is a chinese keyboard or you can use this software: NJstar
http://www.njstar.com/
This software allows you to use your mouse to hand write chinese words and it will automatically covert into a typed form. Works on any application including internet explorer, Microsoft office etc.

Under Start/Control Panel, there’s settings for “Date, Time, Language and Regional Options”, and they list every language I’ve ever heard of EXCEPT Chinese…
WikiHow has a great how to computer page…go to the website and select Comp. and Electronics, then under Operating Systems, select “Windows”, then “XP”, then “How to Install East Asian Language Support for Windows XP”…apparently this is done online., since they don’t mention a cd.
Good luck!
