Okay, I have a network set up with a Linksys WRT54G router, with 3 computers connected to it via wireless. Let’s name them XP1, XP2, and Vista. Take a guess what the operating system of each one is?
I also have this Lexmark x6170 that’s connected to XP1. All 3 computers can see each other on the network. They can ping each other by IP and name. They can share files. When the printer is connected to XP1, XP2 can connect to it and print. When the printer is connected to Vista, XP1 can connect to it and print, along with Vista being able to print to it since it’s connected via USB.
However, when the printer is connected to XP1, Vista can’t print to it. The documents sit in the queue indefinitely, and nothing happens. I have the latest Vista drivers installed for this printer. I’m just scratching my head because I can do almost everything but print via network from Vista and each computer can still connect to each other to share files.
Someone help before I lose my mind, please.
