How To Rip DVD's from my Mac…?

July 12th, 2008 · 5 Comments

I am currently trying to back up my DVD's but I am having some difficulties trying to back up my South Park and L word seasons. I am using MacTheRipper v3.0 to get the DVD's into video ts format and then I am using Toast Titanium v9.0.1 to burn them onto DVD's. The problem is, is that you can't fit 4 episodes onto a standard 4.7GB DVD-R and I don't know how to separate the video ts files to fit two episodes to one disc. I'd like to keep the menu screens if possible. Thanks for your help!!!

Click on the DVD icon on your desktop to open it - you will see the two files. drag the file that you want into another folder on your desktop - it won't be ripping them but it wil be separating them. Alternativley just lower the end file size that you rip to 500MB or less. It will result in reduced quality but you will be able to fit more ripped DVDs onto a single DVD.

I normally use handbrake which is also easy to use and I rip to 1.2GB for watching in iTunes
