How to turn on Intrusion Detection on Norton Internet Security 2005?

Well my Norton Internet Security 2005 is working fine except “Intrusion Detection”. While I try turning it on, it gives me an error message saying “An error has occurred. If this error occurs again, uninstall and reinstall the product. I can’t do this because Norton is already pre-installed onto my computer. Although the only way to fix this issue would be a Factory Default. I don’t really want to do this because I don’t want to lose my data. If anyone has a solution please tell me. Thankyou in advanced.

Also, whenever I open the Internet Security, it gives me the same message. Everything works fine still, except “Intrusion Detection”.
