How to uninstall a failed update in Vista?

I am on vista sp2 and the pc would randomly shut down and i suspect that it has something to do have the update kb938371 as it is listed as Failed".But I can’t uninstall it as the uninstall option does not show up. When I searched the forums everyone said that you have to install kb937287 to fix it. But when I run it, it says The update does apply to your system. The one i downloaded is for the 32 bit version which i am using. A step by step and detailed instructions is appreciated.
