I really didn’t WANT the new version of Firefox, but it downloaded and updated before I could do anything, on all 3 accounts of our home computer. I want to get rid of it but there doesn’t seem to be a way.
The worst part is that I’d activated FoxFilter for one account but now it’s on all 3, due to the update and I can’t remember the password! They keep saying they’ve sent it to my email but it’s never there.
I just want to go back to the old version. Any clues?
I always liked Firefox, just not this version…AND I want to be able to choose when & if I update it.
P.S. I already tried going through User Application Data in Documents & Settings, but couldn’t figure out which thing to get rid of!
Auuugh! Not the Registry again! I just dealt with that all morning before installing the latest version of Comodo firewall (the old one was "corrupted" or something). What a pain! Still, thank you!
I went to Firefox and their knowledge base said the same thing, EXCEPT for the bit abt. the registry.
do I really need to back up my personal data, etc., like they said?
Also, any idea why it would suddenly start updating automatically? It USED to ask!

Completely uninstall firefox and delete all traces from the registry and programme files , > Start Computer > C: > Programme Files.
Then using IE or another browser you may have installed, go here http://www.oldapps.com/firefox.htm to download and install an older version.
(Don't forget to install a new browser first before you uninstall Firefox)
