go to your control panel
there should be a link that says 'add and remove programs'
when u go there look for the sims 2 and there should be a button to re install it

vistas are easy to un-install games.
1. you need to go to my computer
2. go to un-install or change a program (it is located at the top of the page.)
3. click it
4. go to the sims 2.
5. left click on the sims 2 file once.
6. go to un-install program.
7. wait till it is completly un-installed.
8. reinstall the sims 2.
9. thank me for giving you such a great answer.

You don't need Vista to play Sims 3. Where did you get that information? It's not true. You can play on XP if you have that. To play on XP you need to meet the following requirements:
2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1 GB RAM
A 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
The latest version of DirectX 9.0c
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 (256 MB dedicated video card - mid-range or higher - is recommended)
But yeah, to delete the Sims 2 off your computer completely you need to do more than just delete the icon. If you have gone into Add/ Remove Programs and tried to uninstall it from there and you are still getting the message that it's installed then see here: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Uninstall
