This is the first quetion I ask:
try everything…I re istalled it and check my internet connetion..everything is fine..but its telling me to check the preferenc to use not proxy..or proxy…grr i am so mad I done everying,,thats the error i get..I try old version so yahooo messeger and same thing happens help please

did you uninstall the messenger properly? maybe some components were left when you reinstalled the messenger. you need to get rid of all the components of yahoo in your computer and delete the Java before reinstalling it again. but after deleting/uninstalling, you need to restart your PC. choose “No Proxy” for connection setting. and most esp, check your account if it’s working properly also (password must be correct, ID is correct, it’s still active or not anymore, etc. etc).
I need detail or step by step instrution..plez i dont want to mess up my computer LOl

To uninstall you need to click on the Start button(the one on your task bar) then go to Control Panel then to Add/Remove Programs, find yahoo messenger in the list and click on it then on uninstall.< < this is for XP
To uninstall in Vista click on start then Control Panel then on Uninstall a Program in the new window find yahoo messenger click it to uninstall it.
To find and delete the Yahoo folder click on the START button in your task bar then on My Computer then C: drive then Program Files then right click on the Yahoo folder and Delete it. It's a good idea to reboot your PC now to make sure it's all gone out of your system.

I do recommend you get the 8.1.0.421 version as it is the most stable a bug free version of messenger !!
When you download it just save it to your desktop and then run the installer from there.
If you have XP just double click on it to start the install.
To install messenger on Vista you need to download messenger to your desktop. Then Right click on the installer and then click on “Run as Administrator” to get it to install correctly.
Leave the Java alone don’t uninstall it , you need it to play games on messenger etc…
