i can not remove norton security scan.in control panel add and remove doesnt get open.whenever i click any icon one proactive defence is show.pls help to uninstall norton sucessfully.

You use norton removal tool.

Nortons is designed to not be able to delete from add/remove. Even their tool will not remove. And if it does will leave behind over 375 fragments of Nortons & Symantic, (spelling not sure, parent company).
The only way you can get rid of Nortons, is go to your tray and type and open start, search and type in Nortons and let your PC scan your entire system. When every file comes up related to Nortons, delete from the bottom up. If some files say write protected or being used by another file, reboot and try and again. Will usually delete. Do the same for Symantic.
Now go to your tray, open start open run and type in: c://program files, right click on browse, open program files and delete Noretons and Symantic, if they don´t delete reboot and try again.
If you still have files left after the reboot ctc. me and I will give you a link to free software that will delete any write protected file or file that says being used by another file.
