Put windows xp cd in
restart the computer
press f2 for setup
tab over to boot menu
i have to change the order of drives by moving the cd/dvd drive so its first on the list so it will boot from cd..
press f10 for save and exit
computer restarts and gets to the “press any key to boot from disk”
so i pressed any key
and the words “setup is inspecting computers hardware configuration” flashed really fast

says setup is loading files
setup is starting windows
first thing before files start to load, it flashes at bottom
-press “f6″ if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver
-press “f2″ to run an Automated System Recovery
and then
at bottom of the screen u can see all kinds of drivers and controllers and etc. loading

-to setup win xp now, press “enter”
-to repair win xp installation using recovery console, press “R”
-to quit setup without installing win xp, press “f3″
i pressed “enter”… and after the following error message i tried pressing “R” and got the same message
after pressing “enter” it says:
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed on your computer.
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware
configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.
Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press “f3″
Then computer restarts

you have to load SATA drivers for your SATA hard drive. press F6 and load them from a floppy for the brand of hard drive that you have.

Zox is correct. And your laptop has no floppy, xp cant read from a usb without drivers, so your pretty much stuck.
Try ubuntu linux, then install through add/remove virtualbox which will let you run xp inside linux at full speed.
