Hello
I have a problem uninstalling software on my laptop.
Problem
I am using Windows Vista Home Basic
When I go into the following program…
Control Panel > Programs and Features
When I try to uninstall or remove a problem, it disables me being able to remove it.
For instance, say I want to remove Google Earth…
I would right click on the Google Earth icon, and then select “Uninstall” from the drop down menu.
Then it would go through that process as it should saying in a box “Windows Installer” at the top and “Preparing to remove…” in the middle.
Then the box would change saying “Windows installer” at the top and “The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation”.
When I press “OK” at the bottom; another box comes up saying “Installed Updates” at the top and “You do not have sufficient access to uninstall Google Earth. Please contact your system administrator.”
It is referring to me, saying that I have set policies to prevent this installation, because I am the administrator of this computer.
But I do not recall changing the policies; and if I did, it would have been by accident.
Can you give me instructions on how to remove these policies?
My password box to type my password will not come up and that is supposed to happen, where should I go to get it?
