You need to remove some of the registry keys left over from AVG which is preventing you from installing Kaspersky. Follow the top link to download avg8.zip. Also follow richbuff's first post in the second link if you come across difficulty in removing them. Registry cleaners will not remove the keys.

There may be many problems when this kind of thing happens. might be some problem with your PC or OS. might be some virus affecting your installation and anything. if you think that the problem is in your PC then please do these things and try the installation again. Restart your computer and keep pressing F8 till you see a list>select last know good configuration and start the installation again. if it doesnt work then restore your system to an earlier config. if still doesnt work then scan your computer online to find out the virus. I had the same problem when i was hit by a virus called”Funny UST scandal.avi.exe” alright. if still doesnt work then it might be some problem with the software. download it again from a reputed site. or use other ones, like avast or kaspersky v7.0 or ESET NOD32 Antivirus v3.0.669.0 (2008) 30 days trial and symantec antivirus is good, and i dont prefer AVG i tried it and it slows your system too much so please dont go for it. You can find cracks and serials below links. any more queries then contact here “nic.mail@gmail.com”

Install CCleaner to clean your registry.
Then try again.
