I can't install Norton Antivirus in my computer…help?

I just bought new software, for Norton, I can't seem to install it properly, I keep getting this msg that i need to delete old Norton software, which I did, but still its just not working………
What the matter?? I am goin Insane!!!!!!!

      You can get rid of old Norton software in 1 of 2 ways. Go to http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039?OpenDocument and download and run the Norton Removal Tool. This should work.

      You can also use TuneUp Utilities to remove any trace of the program.

      You might wanna go into your files on your computer there is probaly still one file left of it i had the same problem and some other good virsus protection systems are Spybot Search and Destroy,AVG anti virsus prottection,and Ad-Aware Se personal all you have to do is download them and they are free hopes this helps
