ok, i've got an acer aspire 5000 laptop with windows XP service pack 2. while i was trying to close my things in task manager, i accidentally deleted browseui.exe. when i restarted the pc, i logged in and saw a messege that says "BROWSEUI.dll file needs to be reinstalled. re-installing this application may solve the problem." i couldn't see a thing! i could only access task manager and run and command and firefox. i cant look at my computer or explorer. i saw on the internet that i should put my XPCD in and go to run and type cmd. on command i should type sfc \ scannow. i tried it but it gives an error that it is not the correct verison or something. i think it's cause i've got service pack 2. it needs to be service pack 1. anyways i told you what i did any my situation. now my final action to this is to download BROWSEUI.DLL put it into my mem stick and put it. the question is… where do i put it (what folder exp.. system32) please helpp!!!

1: You can't delete files from Task Manager. That is used to end processes, and they regenerate when you restart your computer and/or restart certain programs.
2: Google is wonderful; I ran a search on the file you need, and the first hit will explain several things for you.

3: It seems that file is related to Internet Explorer; it shouldn't affect your OS at all.
4. This site is iffie, but if you need the file for your computer to work, try this site:

Relax — it will be OK. First, anything you 'delete' (technically End Process) in Task Manager will come back automatically when you reboot, so I don't think this was the cause. The .dll you mention is a legit part of Windows and should be restored. If you got a copy of it from the Internet, then open the Windows folder and drag and drop this file to the System32 folder. That should solve the problem.
The issue you're having with the System File Scanner (sfc) program is one too many spaces. To run it you type "sfc /scannow" (without the " marks). There has to be a space after sfc and no space between the / mark and the scannow, and it's a / slash, not a \ slash.
In fact, whoever told you to do the sfc told you correctly. It will solve the problem you now have as well as giving Windows a good exam and replace any other system files that may have become corrupted or deleted.
Good Luck.
