I recently got Avast! Home edition for free what else do i need to keep my computer protected from everything? And also what do i need to keep my computer runing faster? Finally is there any parental program to block any unwanted sites? Thanks any info is appreciated!

Avast Home is almost enough to protect your computer if you use the computer/surf the internet carefully.
I would recommend Spybot S&D for extra protection.
