I have 2 computers. One was installed with proper Windows xp, the other had counterfiet software installed.?

I know that you are able to have up to 3 computers that are able to use the same product key. So, I am trying to register this 2nd computer with a valid product key (from the other computer) but it tells me incorrect product key. I have used the suggested applications that provide you the windows product key from with in the computer, they both give the same key (which is also the same as my computer that is registered properly) but when I put in that product key number I am given a message that says it is an Incorrect Product Key, and it will not continue with the registration or activation. How do I get the 2nd computer to register with the product key from the computer that was registered properly to begin with? The computer is telling me that I have 1 day left to register my windows. What happens then? Will I lose my pictures and everything?

You have to put your O.S. install disk in the one you want to register and do the suggested upgrade option.
It will automatically be the first option offered if you put the disk in while your unit is up and running.
Windows pirated versions are not always 100% compatible with the real Windows updates and should be dealt with in this manner.

With XP you can only use it 1 time then you must call MS to use it again.
