Does anyone know where I can find these drivers so that I can listen to audio? The drivers from the Dell website don't help either. Every time I talk to a Dell technical support agent, they tell me to just reinstall XP. Suggestions?????

Well if you paid for Vista you should get it.(unless you can get your money back.) Even though it's bad.
This solution will give you the best of multiple worlds.
1. reinstall xp.
2. download VirtualBox or a similar program.
3 install Vista using VirtualBox.
Vista now lives on a virtual drive inside your computer where it can't mess anything up. If it gives you any trouble you can just delete it without messing up anything else:)
So now that you've just done all kinds of crazy things with your computer. It's a great time to experiment with linux. I like Kubuntu. Download it or order a cd. It's FREE. http://www.kubuntu.org/
You can install it on VirtualBox or to an actual hard drive or partition. (I prefer a drive or partition because then I have access to my windows drive from it as well.) Pretty much everything for Linux is free, it works better than windows most of the time, and it's easier to use than it used to be.
