I have a linksys wireless router that I have setup encryption for. I now lost the codes…?

What is the best way to either recover the codes or reset the router?

THANKS!

You should jsut be able to log into the router, usually at:-

      http://192.168.1.1

      or

      http://192.168.0.1

(P.S. This will only work for routers on your local network, don't think anyone can log into your router and change security cause they can't)

And just go to security to see what the key is set to under wireless security.

Push the tiny reset button for ten seconds and it will reset to the default codes !!

little button on back of router, find a pen or pencil - push and hold till lights flash, now router is re-set with default log in, set it up again, write down passwords or use one you can remember like birthdate and initials 122508jrp or whatever

you can reset it by unpluging it for a long time, but if you just lost the encription key, you can log in, go into security settings and look them up. you can also go into the administration settings and set the defaults.
