The rest of the file is labeled as follows:- MSVCR80.DLL
From what I can tell this missing file powers Yahoo instant messages and each time the computer is switched on a little pop up tells me that this file is missing.
I have Windows ‘98 (yes some of us still do have dinosaurs) and would like to know if there are any compatible files which I can download that would once again power the Yahoo instant messages. This might power other things as well but that is the only thing I know at present. I would very much like to recieve helpfull suggestions from the Yahoo community.

you can do a quick search online for the file like I did. You should find a few sites that offer the file for free and other will ask you to join the site.

I would delete messenger and reload it again on my computer. If that fails then try running system restore by going back to a date where messenger worked properly. If that fails then you may contact me and I will loan you windows XP to load onto your computer.
