November 5th, 2008 · 8 Comments

I have mcafee anti-virus. i get it for free beause I subscribe to Comcast. Yet I still have a virus on my computer. How do I get rid of the viruses on my computer? My computer is only one month old. I have an anti virus installed I should not be getting viruses on my computer. How do I prevent this from happening in the future?

      1. scan with this

      http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

      2. i would upgrade to a better anti virus. i prefer kaspersky even though its expensive but its really amazing i love it. make sure that the antivirus is actually on cause thats what happened to my freind. he had all these viruses and saw that his anti virus was on off.

Not all virus scans fully check through your complete computer. I personally use Trend Micro House Call. One it’s good and Two it’s free. Just google it

      you need malwarebytes
download it, update it, then run it and delete anything it finds

      http://www.malwarebytes.org/

then get rid of the useless Mc Afee
and try out avast its free too and miles better than what you have got now.

      http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

and you must turn on your DEP to stop viruses in they're tracks why people do not bother to do this i don't know
many people don't know or have never heard of it.
anyway TURN ON YOUR DEP for all programs and services.
if you do not know how then ask.
      .

No anti-Virus program is 100% you can still get infected. Mcafee is not that good of an Anti-Virus program to begin with especially one that's came with Comcast. I would uninstall MacAfee and either buy a good Anti-Virus program like Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 or Spyware Doctor with anti-virus or for now download AVIRA for free and use Comodo Firewall with it. Also download MALWAREBYTES. Save the file to where you wish and install it.

Now to deal with this Virus try to run Malwarebytes in normal mode if you can't run it in normal mode go to >Safe mode with networking and install it there and AVIRA then run a scan. Make sure you disconnect your computer while you run the scan.

To go into safe mode with networking> restart computer and tap F8 on keyboard a few times with you see the boot up screen first appear.

I have seen Mcafee, Norton, plus a whole lot more fail to prevent, detect and remove infections. If you would like help, and if you would like to learn about how to protect your system follow the link below

just look and read my source it will tell u Y ur computer still getting viruses and mcfee detection rate….

DONT DOWNLOAD AVG…….just look & read my source

Avoid an anti-virus called AVG (free version). It is wildly popular with children mind and the computer illiterate but has historically had the lowest virus detection rate of all the popular free anti-virus programs.

AVG IS ONLY FOR POPULARITY BUT IN DETECTION OF WILD VIRUSES ARE VERY POOR / LOW DETECTION RATE AND ALSO DOESNT HAVE ANTI-ROOTKITS ( where viruses, malware, spyware worm, adware and many more hidding, staying, spread viruses to ur computer…ect ) AS COMPARED WHAT I Recommend…ACCORDING TO MY SOURCE….

In my personal opinion the BEST and among the TOP antivirus is AVIRA it has FREE and PAID COMPLETE SOFTWARE…..JUST LOOK AND READ MY SOURCE

I RECOMMEND FREE AVIRA ANTIVIR or AVIRa premuim it has LESS memory usage raher than many of the other antivirus programs ( free & paid ) available (e.g.AVG,Norton, Kaspersky, McAfee, bitdefender …)

You’ll be amazed how thoroughly FREE AntiVir protects:

      1. detects and removes permanently more than 1500000 viruses
      2. always among the winners of comparison test featured in computer journals
      3. the resident Virus Guard serves to monitor file movements automatically, e.g. downloading of data from the internet
      4. scanning and repair of macro viruses
      5. protection against previously unknown macro viruses
      6. safeguard against cost generating dial-up program
      7. protection against trojaner, worms, backdoors, jokes and other harmful programs
      8. easy operation
      9. Internet-Update Wizard for easy updating
      10. Protection against previously unknown boot record viruses and master boot record viruses
