I have been invaded by Blackster while Norton was on. Can Norton not detect this virus?

May 21st, 2008 · 3 Comments

Norton was up to date but detected nothing either at the time or in a later scan. I removed the screen saver (black beetles) file and reset the theme. I checked on McAfee's website advice the registry entries which had reset the saver and theme. Is this sufficient to remove all the ill effects of this virus? Or do to I have to clean the hard drive and reload everything from scratch?

Norton hasn't been useful since 1992 when Norton sold his program to Symantec. Use a better antivir program like avast.
