I have Trend Micro 2008 Antivirus and Spyware on my PC. But it won’t update - what’s wrong?

When I click on the Trend Micro icon it says Trend Micro needs my help fixing a problem. When I open it up it says I need to get the latest update. When I click update, it looks like it's updating but after 10 seconds it states, I have the latest update available. But it still states I needs my help to fix a problem. What wrong here?
