I have uninstalled McAfee Internet Security and want to install Kaspersky Internet Security, but I can’t!?

My new laptop came with McAfee Internet Security with SiteAdvisor 2008 and the license period expired. So I then uninstalled it the normal way, rebooted my laptop, and then inserted the Kaspersky CD, ran the Setup wizard as usual, and then it says, "this software cannot be used together with Kaspersky, if you want to install kaspersky, please remove this program, and it shows "Mcafee internet security". and i cant go anywhere in the setup wizard beyond that! I have even used registry cleaning software to remove invalid uninstall entries, but even that doesn’t work! Help!

To remove any av program, you need to use the removal tool, not just the add/remove program. Get and run McAfee removal tool.
